Tyler Allen 

On August 20, 2008, Mr. Tyler Allen began serving at the American Presence Post in Busan as its first permanently assigned officer.  This is Allen’s fourth assignment in the U.S. Foreign Service and he will be serving in this capacity until September 2011. 

Joining the Foreign Service in July 2002, Allen served in Timor Leste (East Timor) (2003-4), Korea (2004-6), and Barbados (2006-8).  Allen began his career directly following graduate school, earning a Masters in Pacific International Affairs at the University of California - San Diego’s Graduate School of International Relations and Pacific Studies.  Allen earned his Bachelors of Arts in International Studies at Brigham Young University.  Allen’s Korea experience began in 1995 when he embarked on a two-year missionary experience.  Mr. Allen is married and has three daughters.
