On July 29, 2008, APP officer Min Chang paid a visit to Rear Admiral Lee Ki Sik, Commander of Surface Flotilla FIVE of ROK Navy in Jinhae, and discussed current issues affecting the ROK-US alliance.

On July 23, 2008, APP Officer Min Chang gave a talk about Korea-US relations to UIP (Ulsan International Program) participants and engaged in active Q&A sessions afterwards. UIP is an exchange program sponsored by Ulsan University with the goal of having foreign students interact, study and live with Korean students to foster cultural exchange and understanding.

 

Bimonthly American Citizen Services were provided at APP Busan on July 22 -23.

For the bi-monthly American Citizen Services, ACS staff from US Embassy Seoul traveled to APP Busan and assisted more than 50 American Citizens.  Services provided included passports renewing, reporting births abroad, reporting marriages, and notarials.

On June 26, APP Office Min Chang attended the opening of Tiffany’s Jewelry Exhibition, which moved to Busan after its highly publicized run in Seoul. The exhibition runs through August 31 at Busan Museum.

On June 24, on the eve of the 58 anniversary of the Korean War, APP Officer Min Chang attended a memorial at the United Nations Memorial Cemetery.  In memory of the UN soldiers, speeches of remembrance were followed a wreath laying ceremony.

On June 19, 2008, APP Officer Min Chang attended the Open House of the Busan American Corner and talked to English teachers in Busan about benefits and challenges of learning English in the US and shared his own experience in learning English and adjusting to American culture as a young child who immigrated to U.S.
